EXCLUSIVE: First lady Melania Trump says her “Be Best” policy platform targeting online bullies is personal. “I could say that I’m the most bullied person in the world,” she tells ABC. https://t.co/iiEv5Z3ijv pic.twitter.com/CWZ7g9by27— ABC News (@ABC) October 11, 2018
Reporter Tom Llamas, who does an admirable job of not falling out of his chair with hysterical laughter: "You think you're the most bullied person in the world?"
Melania, realizing she might have just stepped in it: "One of them. If you really see what people saying about me."
That sound you hear is heads exploding at the White House.
Melania has previously acknowledged the irony of her initiative to stop bullying, given that she's married to the world's most powerful and prolific bully, saying that she's going forward anyway because it's something she believes in. Now she's changed her story. It's because she is the most bullied person [in] the world.
It's going to be fun watching the White House try to walk this one back.
And one more thing. Presumably when Melania thinks she's being bullied, it's by people who don't admire her politics, or her husband's politics. In other words, adults. That's a bit of a disconnect with the fact that Be Best is focused on children.
