We saw during the congressional hearing that Brett Kavanaugh has a temper and can lash out in aggrieved anger when things don't go exactly as he wants them to go. I hope none of that vicious anger is directed at his wife, but I admit this video, taken at the White House after Kavanaugh was confirmed to the Supreme Court, is intriguing. He shoves her out of the way, pounds her on the back, grabs her by the shoulder, the vibe between them does seem off. Her facial expressions also don't appear to fit. Wouldn't a loving wife be ecstatic that her husband had triumphed and been elevated to the highest court in the land, the most prestigious and influential job a lawyer in this country can aspire to? The whole thing is just off.Her body language is telling the entire story.— StanceGrounded (@_SJPeace_) October 11, 2018

Or maybe not. I admit that I don't admire Justice Kavanaugh at all, so I'm primed to perceive the worst in a video that makes him look bad. Some observers are saying that perhaps Mrs. Kavanaugh was just nervous being at the White House in the presence of the president. That doesn't ring true, however, because before her marriage she was the personal secretary to President George W. Bush during his first term. She met her husband at the White House and George and Laura Bush attended their wedding. This wasn't the first time Mrs. Kavanaugh has been in close proximity to a president of the United States.
What's really going on in this video? We'll probably never know for sure.
