The list of candidates in my previous post, and several others over the last few weeks, is just about who has declared themselves a candidate and the date they made it official. It has nothing to do with who's most likely to actually get the Republican nomination. I just want to be clear about that before I post a new list from The Fix blog at the Washington Post, in which Chris Cillizza ranks the top 10 candidates in the order of their likelihood of ending up as the Republican nominee next year. And yes, The Donald is on the list. Ready? Here it is:
- Jeb Bush
- Marco Rubio
- Scott Walker
- Donald Trump
- John Kasich
- Ted Cruz
- Mike Huckabee
- Rand Paul
- Chris Christie
- Ben Carson
If Jonathan Bernstein or Charles Krauthammer publish updated versions of their rankings, I'll update this post.
