Plus Six

When Donald visited the UK last year and met the Queen, I was struck by daughter Ivanka's absence from the glamorous activities:

Who else was conspicuously not there? Ivanka. Unlike her "famously private" stepmother, Ivanka appears to relish the spotlight (aka brand-building opportunities,) having traveled with her father on several previous international trips...

Where was Ivanka this time? At home stewing, no doubt. She would probably sell her first-born child for the chance to swan around Blenheim Palace with the Duke and Duchess of Marlborough, then be photographed standing next to the Queen. Not this time, Ivanka. I have no doubt that the First Lady made it very clear: Ivanka would share this spotlight over Melania's dead body.

Now with Donald's big state visit coming up next week, Ivanka and the other kids have apparently muscled their way into the proceedings. From New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman:

From British newspaper The Guardian:

When Donald Trump makes his state visit to the UK next month he will bring his own version of a royal court, in the form of all his adult children and their spouses, according to US news reports.

Neither Buckingham Palace nor the White House has confirmed the guest list for the state banquet dinner on 3 June, but ABC News reported the US president would be accompanied by his wife, Melania, his daughter Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner – who both work in the White House – as well as his other daughter, Tiffany, his sons Donald Jr and Eric, and Eric’s wife, Lara.

And from me:

Who's stewing this time? Melania, no doubt. I'm sure she would prefer not to be accompanied by three younger blondes. (Three? Ivanka, Tiffany and Eric's wife Lara.) I assume Kimberly Guilfoyle, a.k.a. Don Jr.'s girlfriend, is also not happy, having fallen victim to the "No Ring, No Bring" protocol. I'll keep an eye out during this holiday week-end. Maybe Donnie and Kimberly will elope to make it legal, just in time.
