Michelle LeClair/Scientology

Issue dated September 17, 2018: Michelle LeClair

This is one of those stories there was no way to anticipate, and as usually happens, it's tied to a new book. How does an unknown writer get the cover of People magazine to promote her book? Three words: Attractive Blonde Woman. Trust me, if LeClair, who, according to the story at people.com is 45, was matronly, with grey hair and wrinkles, she wouldn't be front and center on the cover of People. The magazine also like to run dramatic headlines about Scientology. This is the third cover story in three years featuring the strange religion. The previous two both featured Leah Remini and one had the exact same headline:

Issue dated November 16, 2015
Leah Remini Opens up to PEOPLE About Leaving Scientology

Issue dated September 11, 2017

Accused murderer Chris Watts is here too, for the third week in a row, and it was probably time for a new Meghan story. (Although "BEST DRESSED WOMAN IN THE WORLD!" is a bit of a stretch.) None of these stories were on the Guessing Game list, making this week a complete strike out.

Last year at this time: Issue dated September 18, 2017
