I had Tom Hanks on three recent Guessing Game posts, but alas, I didn't put him on the list this week. I actually thought Prince Andrew, whose banishment from the royal family, or at least from all of his royal "duties," is so intriguing on so many levels, would get the full main cover treatment. Alas, Andrew got bumped to the top right corner. The headlines on both stories are interesting, too. There's no mention of Hanks' new movie about Mr. Rogers, and saying that Andrew quit under pressure is a serious understatement. Make no mistake: Prince Andrew was fired. I consider historian/biographer Robert Lacey to be one of the most credible observers of the royal circus. He is quoted in the Guardian article I mentioned in the Guessing Game post, directly below, and now he's talking to People as well. According to Lacey, Prince Andrew's "entire public existence has been wiped out by his own behavior." (Read more here.)
For a different perspective, CNN media reporter Brian Stelter interviewed the interviewer, Emily Maitlis:
