Jennifer Lopez

Issue dated December 24, 2018: Jennifer Lopez

It's Jennifer Lopez this week, promoting her new movie and apparently she spoke directly to the magazine because the cover includes the always annoyingly pretentious blurb "The People Interview." The headline claims we'll learn all of Jennifer's secrets, which I doubt, as well as "how she stays forever young." That sounded familiar to me so I did a quick search back through old People cover posts and sure enough, in May, 2017, when Julia Roberts (also 49 at the time) was the so-called world's most beautiful woman, her cover headline included the exact same language:

Issue dated May 1, 2017

In my post at the time I said that claiming that a 49-year-old woman is staying "forever young" was just plain stupid and I still think so. (Read that post here.) On the other hand, another woman who appears to be trying very hard to stay forever young is Melania Trump, who turns 49 on April 26. Will People feature her on the cover? Probably not but stay tuned.

Note that People reuses the "All Her Secrets" headline too, although I don't believe that Caitlyn Jenner spilled all her secrets anymore than Lopez did.

Last year at this time: Issue dated December 25, 2017
John Stamos

Even though John Stamos was a first-time dad at age 54, People's headline writer didn't feel compelled to say anything about how he stays forever young.
