The Guessing Game - Updated

Original post:
What will be on the cover of People this week? This will be the annual "Most Beautiful" issue, so the real question is, who will People editors pick as the so-called "World's Most Beautiful Woman" for 2018? I have no idea, really; the names in my head as possibilities include Jennifer Lopez, Carrie Underwood and Beyonce. Beyond that I'm drawing a blank.

There should also be a couple of sidebar headlines; my guesses for those include:

Lindsay Buckingham: Fired from Fleetwood Mac
Khloe Kardashian: Gave birth to a daughter while enduring a tidal wave of tabloid gossip about her unfaithful partner Tristan Thompson. Will she stay with him or hightail it back to Calabasas?
Huey Lewis: Losing his hearing, has cancelled concerts for the rest
of the year
Beyonce and/or Carrie Underwood: If not front and center as the most beautiful woman, either of these ladies could get sidebar headlines, Carrie for appearing in public after injuring her face, and Beyonce for being the first black woman to headline Coachella
Barbara Bush: As I'm writing on Sunday afternoon, it's been announced that the former First Lady is in failing health and will seek no further medical treatment. I remember similar announcements regarding Jackie Onassis and Elizabeth Edwards, which were followed by news of their deaths in a day or two after the announcement. I've written about the deaths of presidents before (in an article that was about George H.W. Bush, read it here) and the death of a First Lady is also a big deal in the life of our country. It also doesn't happen that often. Since 1960, it's only happened eight times:

March 6, 2016: Nancy Reagan
July 8, 2011: Betty Ford
July 11, 2007: Lady Bird Johnson
May 19, 1994: Jackie Onassis
June 22, 1993: Pat Nixon
October 18, 1982: Bess Truman
November 1, 1979: Mamie Eisenhower
November 7, 1962: Eleanor Roosevelt

I never voted for George H.W. Bush but compared to the degenerate pig currently occupying the White House, his presidency was, and his life has been, a master class in dignity, class and selfless service to country and Barbara was at his side for all of it. My warmest thoughts go out to the Bush family today.

Monday morning update:

John Stamos: A first-time father at age 54
Nikki Bella and John Cena: A Celebrity Split just weeks before their planned wedding. Note that I have no idea who these people are (really) but at 9.00 a.m. Monday morning their break-up is the lead story at people.com
Chris Stapleton: Father of twins
Will Farrell: Released from the hospital after a car crash

Wednesday morning update: See the new cover here
