The Guessing Game - Updated

Original post
What will be on the cover of People this week? Just a few guesses:

Princess Kate: Her 3rd baby is due this month. Apparently Prince William said a few days ago that the baby is due "any minute now." We'll see
John McCain: His memoir comes out in May. Will he spill the beans about the Sarah Palin debacle? I hope so
Tiger Woods: A new biography, by Armen Keteyian and Jeff Benedict, came out last week
Arnold Schwarzenegger: Heart surgery
Anita Shreve: The novelist died of cancer on March 29
Pippa Middleton: Her father-in-law was arrested for rape
Doris Day: Her 96th birthday

Sunday afternoon update: Meghan Markle. Andrew Morton, the reporter who wrote Diana's manifesto, is publishing a book about Meghan (written really, really fast, obviously.) Titled "Meghan: A Hollywood Princess," it comes out April 17. The royal wedding is 7 weeks from yesterday.

Monday morning, update #2, a few additions:

Steven Bochco: The creator of Hill Street Blues, NYPD Blue, LA Law and many other shows has died of leukemia at age 74
Arie Luyendyk, Jr.: A dumb April Fool's Day joke about pregnancy
Abby Lee Miller: The Dance Moms star is released from jail
Trevor Engelson. Who? He's Meghan Markle's ex-husband and it sounds like he's quoted in Andrew Morton's trying-very-hard-to-create-drama new book about Meghan's Hollywood years. It's not clear if Engelson actually spoke to Morton or if he's just being quoted by others, but if you've ever wondered why royals used to have the "must marry a virgin" rule, this is one of the reasons. With a virgin there are no exes who can pop into the spotlight and start giving embarrassing quotes.

Monday night, update #3: A few last minute additions:

Channing Tatum & Jenna Dewan and/or Kendra Wilkinson & Hank Baskett: Two celebrity couples announce that they're splitting up
Winnie Mandela: Nelson Mandela's ex-wife dies in Johannesburg at age 81

And one more thing, update #4 on Tuesday morning: At this point the cover is already finalized, but there's a new story posted at people.com this morning that could be a teaser for tomorrow's cover. (Read it here.) Sheila Tate, who was First Lady Nancy Reagan's press secretary, has written a book titled "Lady In Red, An Intimate Portrait of Nancy Reagan," that comes out today. This is the first I've heard of it, but it's exactly the kind of book that frequently scores a People cover.

Wednesday morning, update #5: The new cover will be posted shortly and I've got one more addition, that I'm a little embarrassed I didn't think of before: Martin Luther King, Jr., or perhaps one or more member of his family. Today, April 4th, is the 50th anniversary of his assassination.

See the new cover here.
