Prayers, Heartbreak And $3,061,941 From The NRA

Update: Senators Marco Rubio (Florida) and Joni Ernst (Iowa) also issued tweets about their prayers:

I'm sure Ohio Senator Rob Portman was sincere when he sent out this tweet yesterday afternoon:

Heartbreaking news out of Florida. Jane and I send our prayers to the school, the community, and the victims of this tragedy.

Presumably he was also delighted to receive more than $3,000,000 in contributions from the NRA over the course of his career in politics.
