Hoda was on my list last week, but not one of the 25 potential stories in this week's Guessing Game post even got a sidebar. Bummer. The Afflecks' aren't getting a divorce? Gabourey Sidibe had surgery? Tarek is miserable during his divorce? Wow, who knew?
I admit I've been thinking about Hoda's adoption process. According to the story at people.com, Kotb worked with a licensed adoption agency in New York and was able to finalize the adoption in a matter of months. It sounds great but I wonder. Would a regular, non-famous unmarried 52-year old woman be able to find and adopt a healthy American newborn in a matter of months? Based on what I know about adoption, almost certainly not. My sense is that this lovely story could only happen to a rich, well-connected woman.
