This Day In History, 1918: Nelson Mandela Is Born

Today would have been Nelson Mandela's 99th birthday. Here, in 2013, President Obama brought his family to see Mandela's prison cell at Robben Island, South Africa. For the girls, it was a chance to hear first-hand from one of Mandela's fellow inmates about their shared experience. Mandela was unfortunately too ill to receive the family for a visit during their trip.
