Blogging The Bach: Two Days Away

"I would rather chew glass and wash it down with a bag of hair than lose to her." No, I'm not quoting Jeb Bush talking about Hillary Clinton. This is a nugget of wisdom from one of the 30 women vying for Bachelor Chris Soules's heart, starting two days from now. (Watch the "supertease" here.)

As the big day approaches I've seen several "women to watch" lists:

Chris Harrison at Yahoo: Ashley I, Britt, Jade, Kelsey, Whitney

People Magazine: Ashley I, Ashley S. Britt, Jade, Kelsey, Whitney

Kristen Baldwin at Yahoo, with odds of "winning:" Kelsey (5-2), Whitney (30-1), Kaitlyn (2-1), Megan (30-1), Britt (15-1), Ashley I (9-2), Trina (50-1).

Slate Magazine, with a fun article called How To Figure Out Who Will Win On The Bachelor. Liz Stevenson breaks her predictions into three categories, and gives odds:
Tier 1/Will You Accept The Rose? Jade (3-1), Amanda (4-1), Kelsey (5-1), Jillian (7-1) and Nikki (8-1).
Tier 2/Enjoy Your Limo Ride Of Humiliation Kaitlyn (15-1), Ashley I (20-1), Jordan (30-1), Whitney (30-1), Reegan (100-1).
Tier 3/Wild Cards: Are You Here For The Right Reasons? Mackenzie (12-1), Britt (12-1), Brittany (14-1), Tara (50-1), Trina (100-1).

Given that Bachelor Chris is a real-life farmer who will be expecting his fiancée to move to small-town Iowa, I had assumed that the women would hail from the heartland too, but I was wrong about that. There are several from California, three from the New York City area, three from Chicagoland, and others from New Jersey, Florida, Nashville and Vancouver B.C. This would suggest that maybe, just possibly, some of the women are less interested in life as a farmer's wife and more interested in following in the footsteps of Melissa Rycroft, Ali Fedotowski, Trista Sutter and Jillian Harris, all of whom have used their appearance on this show to build media careers.

The magic and the mayhem, the trauma and the drama are just two days away!
