Writing about the world as I see it...
View this post on Instagram Today is the 50th anniversary of the death of #therollingstones founder Brian Jones. I photographed him backstage in 1966 at the Portland Coliseum with Keith Richards, who is standing in front of Mick Jagger. Jones died at age 27 of drowning in his swimming pool in Hartfield, England. The Stones would never have existed without him. Stones bass guitarist Bill Wyman said of Jones, "He formed the band. He chose the members. He named the band. He chose the music we played. He got us gigs. ... he was very influential, very important, and then slowly lost it . . . and just kind of wasted it and blew it all away.” #brianjones #mickjagger #keithrichards A post shared by David Hume Kennerly (@davidhumekennerly) on Jul 2, 2019 at 11:32am PDT
